In this collection of honest and sometimes raw stories, Dawn throws a loving, untoned arm around readers as she brings them along on her journey through the loss of a child, divorce, cancer, rape, the death of her only sibling, her husband’s substance abuse, and finding her way back to Jesus in the middle of it all. Dawn shares her personal story to show readers how to find happiness and purpose even in the darkest of days.
Lourdes Foundation touches the lives of hundreds of those most in need every day. Through generous individuals, grants and special event proceeds, we support charitable healthcare services in Acadiana that extend our mission of stewardship and outreach to students at Northside High Health Center, to the homeless at St. Bernadette Community Clinic and to the youngest and most vulnerable children who find themselves in our care. Will you help us with a gift to sustain our ministry?

Coach Matt Deggs
Matt Deggs, head baseball coach for Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. His book “15 to 28: A Story of God’s Love, Power and Redemption,” is a riveting story tracing his journey in and out of college baseball. The 28 stories inside paint a true testament to what is possible when we remove ourselves from the equation and let God work in us.
Lafayette native Rowe Stipe, 23, recently published “Storms, Fire and Whispers: Hearing God Through Life’s Journey.” This book is a must-read for anyone looking to rediscover the joy of following Christ or dive deeper into the Christian faith. In the fall of 2015, Stipe’s cousin, Sid Ortis – a zealous LSU fan – succumbed to cancer at the age of 16. Stipe depicts how the darkest moments in our lives can set us up for our greatest blessings and that God always keeps His promise to never leave or forsake us.
The lone survivor of the December plane crash in Lafayette, Wade Berzas sustained burns to 75 percent of his body and spent over 50 days in the hospital. Berzas recounts how life as he knew it changed in 48 seconds. He experienced God’s miraculous presence, kept unwavering faith and felt the powerful love of family. He deeply felt the prayers of this community throughout his recovery and will speak to the God-given blessings his life is today.
